Key Responsibilities

  • •Translate business questions into technical data solutions and help scope, design, build, and validate data products with product managers and engineers.
  • •Design, build, and operate high-quality production ETL pipelines and data architectures on Adyen’s Big Data Platform.
  • •Collaborate with internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and drive end-user adoption of data products.
  • •Ensure high data and code quality by writing clean, maintainable, well-tested code with testing, monitoring, and validation protocols.
  • •Work with experienced Data Engineers to optimize data workflows, adopt modern developer tooling (including AI coding tools), and apply best practices in data governance and performance.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Science, Econometrics, or a related quantitative/data discipline.
  • •Hands-on practical experience via a previous role or a technical internship (e.g., Data Engineer, Data Analyst, or Software Engineer transitioning into Data Engineering).
  • •Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with a focus on writing clean, maintainable code.
  • •Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD tooling, including code reviews, automated testing, and deployment pipelines.
  • •Familiarity with orchestration engines (e.g., Airflow) or semantic layers/BI tools (e.g., dbt, Looker).
