•Own and manage all U.S. payroll runs (weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly) with zero-tolerance for errors or delays
•Mentor one direct report and foster accountability, growth, and operational excellence
•Serve as payroll SME and respond to employee inquiries with speed and accuracy
•Maintain rigorous payroll records and documentation for audits and reporting
•Collaborate with Legal, HR, and Finance to ensure regulatory compliance and accurate payroll accounting

Key Requirements

•7+ years of progressive payroll experience in a high-growth startup or similar environment
•Experience managing multi-state and multi-national payroll operations
•Experience mentoring direct reports in payroll or HR operations
•Track record of building scalable payroll infrastructure
•Strong knowledge of California labor laws and multi-state payroll compliance
