Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws, transporting loads safely and on time while following traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • •Maneuver the truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas and follow loading crew signals.
  • •Assist with loading and unloading using specialized equipment as warranted; unload empty skids and return equipment to designated areas.
  • •Maintain and deliver required documentation (signed invoices and shipping bills of lading) to the shipping office or appropriate staff.
  • •Perform routine service checks (e.g., oil, water, gasoline, air) and report maintenance malfunctions to the Shipping Supervisor; arrange trailers for optimum loading patterns and perform other related duties as assigned.

Key Requirements

  • •Must hold a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) or a chauffeur’s license depending on state, appropriate for the vehicle weight.
  • •Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state DOT regulations, and pass a DOT physical (trucks driven are over 10k lbs).
  • •Must be at least 21 years old and have a clean driving record.
  • •Ability to remain focused in a busy environment and communicate professionally with customers and staff at delivery points.
  • •Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds and sit for prolonged periods in a trailer cab; CDL drivers may be required to be clean shaven for customer deliveries.
