Key Responsibilities

  • •Ensure the fair and ethical treatment of laying hens.
  • •Remove dead birds from all cages/systems.
  • •Walk rows to fix egg blockages; clean egg transfers and blow off egg collectors.
  • •Maintain equipment and facilities: keep feeders and waterers in good condition, blow down barns, and replace burnt-out light bulbs.
  • •Catch loose birds and cull non-productive chickens; perform other duties as assigned.

  • •Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • •May operate small hand tools, air compressors, and other equipment as required.
