Job Summary

Drive supplier industrialization for powertrain plastics and composites, enabling new product industrialization on an aggressive timeline. Partner with suppliers to deliver DFM feedback, review injection molding output, and approve tooling through molding trials. Work with design engineering and supply chain to down-select concepts, build DFx feedback, develop outsourcing manufacturing/assembly processes, and lead supplier quality containment and corrective/preventive actions.

Key Responsibilities

•Collaborate with suppliers to provide DFM feedback, review injection molding output, and approve tooling via molding trials.
•Work with design engineering to down-select early design concepts by providing supplier feedback on materials and manufacturing methods.
•Solicit, compile, and present DFx feedback from external suppliers to support design concept down-selection.
•Collaborate developing custom manufacturing and/or assembly processes to be outsourced to external manufacturing partners.
•Lead supplier technical involvement for ECR/PCN activities and support containment, corrective actions, root cause investigation, and long-term preventative actions.

Key Requirements

•BS in Engineering; MS preferred or equivalent experience in mechanical/industrial/plastic engineering or related field.
•5+ years of hands-on NPI experience in automotive plastic and composite development.
•Deep knowledge of thermoplastic molding and secondary processes (injection molding, extrusion, compression molding, etc.).
•Experience taking multiple new products from concept phase through production.
•Experience with product lifecycle management tools (Auros, Arena PLM).
