Job Summary

Build and evolve Nexus interfaces for Temporal SDKs, enabling developers to compose and run durable workflows across languages. Design Nexus APIs and runtime behaviors that integrate with each language’s type systems and runtimes to execute deterministic, stateful workflows alongside the Temporal Server. Own end-to-end feature delivery, improve reliability and developer experience, collaborate with open-source SDK teams, and write technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

•Take end-to-end ownership of new Nexus features with the Nexus and OSS teams to deliver reliability and a great developer experience.
•Design and build Nexus interfaces for Temporal SDKs so customers can work with Temporal in their preferred language.
•Tightly integrate Temporal SDKs with their respective languages to execute durable, deterministic application code.
•Develop Nexus features that support reliable execution for agentic AI systems, including advanced durable execution patterns and async processing.
•Collaborate with the community to debug expert-level issues and provide feedback, and write publicly-readable technical documentation.

Salary: USD 176,000 - 237,000 annually

Key Requirements

•At least 7 years of experience in a production environment as an “Arranger” and/or “Builder/Enhancer” of highly scalable distributed systems.
•Solid computer science fundamentals in distributed systems, including multi-threading and concurrency.
•Experience writing concurrent code in production with languages such as Go, Java, Python, TypeScript, and .NET (high end of Intermediate and/or Advanced or Expert).
•Experience designing APIs and/or SDK libraries and working with open source systems.
•Strong polyglot with deep domain expertise in at least 2 of Python, TypeScript, .NET, Ruby, and Rust.
