Job Summary

Build and operate the platform that powers large-scale machine learning model training, fine-tuning, transformations, and evaluation workflows used across Netflix. Lead the design of distributed training infrastructure and performance improvements for large training jobs, and create easy-to-use APIs and interfaces for ML engineers and non-experts. Work with Kubernetes, Ray, and PyTorch primitives while partnering across ML, research, infrastructure, and platform teams to deliver reliable AI tooling at scale.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and build the platform powering large-scale machine learning model training, fine-tuning, transformations, and evaluations workflows.
•Co-design and optimize systems and models to scale distributed training and improve cost-effectiveness.
•Develop easy-to-use APIs and interfaces that help ML practitioners and non-experts access the training platform.
•Improve performance and reliability for large training jobs across metrics like GPU utilization, memory efficiency, and fault tolerance.
•Partner with ML engineers, researchers, and infrastructure teams to lead technical discussions, drive alignment, and deliver high-impact capabilities.

•Design, build, and operate platform infrastructure, libraries, and SDKs for large-scale model training, enabling reliable workflows for foundation and generative AI models.
•Diagnose and optimize performance for large distributed training jobs, including GPU utilization, memory efficiency, communication overhead, data loading, checkpointing, fault tolerance, and cluster utilization.
•Have experience with cloud computing providers, preferably AWS.
•Comfortably work across multiple layers of the tech stack to deliver both 0-to-1 and 1-to-100 projects in ambiguous environments.
•Promote operational best practices such as observability, logging, reporting, and on-call processes to ensure engineering excellence.
