Key Responsibilities

  • •Own data platform engineering architecture, set technical direction, and drive core system design and production reliability.
  • •Build and operate trusted data pipelines with ingestion services, integrations, and reliable observability (testing, logging, alerting).
  • •Evolve the orchestration platform: workflow execution, worker infrastructure, upgrades, and operational reliability.
  • •Improve warehouse reliability, performance, and access in BigQuery, including query performance, cost, permissions tooling, and governance with dbt foundations.
  • •Establish engineering standards and mentor data engineers via code review, pairing, and coaching while partnering across analytics, engineering, IT, and security.

Key Requirements

  • •7+ years in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related field, setting direction and delivering complex data systems.
  • •Deep expertise with modern cloud data warehouses like BigQuery, Databricks, or Snowflake, including modeling, performance, cost, and access control.
  • •Strong Python and SQL skills building reliable ingestion and ELT pipelines and maintainable data models.
  • •Experience operating orchestration platforms (Prefect, Airflow, or Dagster), including deployments, upgrades, workers, and reliability.
  • •Hands-on infrastructure-as-code with Terraform (or equivalent) to build maintainable cloud infrastructure and backend services (APIs, event-driven workflows).
