Job Summary

Provide technical and operational leadership across complex geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects, serving as a senior technical authority for ground models, geotechnical assessments, and design deliverables. Lead and review advanced geotechnical analysis for foundations, retaining structures, earthworks, slopes, tunnels, and related assets. Own project and portfolio performance, develop client relationships, and lead bids and proposals. Provide line management, coaching, and technical mentorship to engineers and engineering geologists.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide technical and operational leadership across a portfolio of complex geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects to deliver high-quality, commercially successful outcomes.
•Act as a senior technical authority to develop and assure ground models, geotechnical assessments, design solutions, and technical deliverables.
•Direct and review advanced geotechnical analysis and design for foundations, retaining structures, earthworks, slopes, tunnels, and other geotechnical assets.
•Take responsibility for project and portfolio performance, including programme, budget, resource planning, quality management, and risk and contractual requirements.
•Provide line management, coaching, and technical mentorship to engineers and engineering geologists, supporting succession planning and professional development; collaborate on team strategy and growth.

Key Requirements

•A substantial technical background in geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, and ground risk management, with experience leading complex projects.
•Strong geotechnical interpretation, analysis, and design expertise, with the ability to review, challenge, and approve technical outputs.
•A proven track record leading projects and multidisciplinary teams while managing scope, programme, resources, commercial performance, quality, and risk.
•Strong commercial awareness, including preparing proposals, managing project finances, and contributing to new business development.
•Chartered status with a relevant professional institution (e.g., ICE or Geological Society) or an equivalent recognised professional qualification.
