Key Responsibilities

  • •Follow established inspection and QA/QC practices to support compliant transmission line and civil construction activities, equipment, and associated civil/structural/electrical systems.
  • •Serve as the primary or sole transmission line inspector for assigned projects, advising on work progress, constructability, and issue resolution.
  • •Verify load calculations, foundation designs, material quantities, change orders, and contract pay items; interpret and resolve plan/profile/specification differences.
  • •Monitor project phasing, outage coordination, and contractor work to ensure quality control and safety compliance; document daily activities, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
  • •Prepare accurate inspection reports and documentation (photos, sketches, field measurements, calculations, and 2D/3D drawings) and provide risk and constructability input to stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent.
  • •Minimum of 9 years of relevant post-education experience with construction inspection on electric utility, power delivery, or transmission line projects (overhead and/or underground).
  • •5+ years of active field experience, computer skills to complete daily and weekly reports, and ability to produce photo documentation.
  • •Strong knowledge of construction inspection principles, HV/EHV transmission line inspection methods, QA/QC practices, documentation, and compliance verification.
  • •Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for projects (including staying for a minimum of 6 weeks at a time).
