Key Responsibilities

  • •Research and develop new classes of business by assessing market trends, competition, viability, and creating forms/endorsements and rates with actuarial support
  • •Review individual risks with assigned brokers to accept/decline business, set premium charge, and determine coverage, endorsements, exclusions, and reinsurance placement
  • •Achieve production and loss ratio goals by managing broker relationships, monitoring premium/loss results, and recommending corrective actions
  • •Handle policy maintenance and mid-term requests, including endorsement authorization and loss-control follow-up
  • •Foster broker and reinsurer relationships, resolve complex technical questions, and teach/mentor underwriting talent

Key Requirements

  • •8 years of casualty (CL) underwriting experience handling large or complex accounts
  • •Excess & surplus lines experience (preferred)
  • •Completion of general insurance courses such as CPCU, CIC, AU, ARM, CPIW, CWIS, or ASLI (preferred)
  • •Underwriting knowledge of complex CL policies, practices, insurance law, and underwriting/marketing principles
  • •Knowledge of treaty & facultative reinsurance and regulatory/market concepts
