Key Responsibilities

  • •Assist in analysis and review of new business proposals for IFRS implications and compliance, including preparation of IFRS accounting opinions aligned to Group policies.
  • •Provide accounting advice on ad hoc accounting queries of varied complexity.
  • •Formulate and recommend Group accounting policies and provide detailed practical guidance.
  • •Provide technical support for implementation of technical decisions through SME groups and support IFRS change working groups for new requirements.
  • •Monitor external accounting, regulatory, and legal requirement changes impacting the HSBC Group and participate in industry forums to contribute to technical discussions.

Key Requirements

  • •Qualified Accountant (ACA or equivalent).
  • •Relevant experience in an accounting firm’s technical advisory team or an accounting policy/advisory function within a bank or financial services entity.
  • •Knowledge and experience applying IFRS accounting standards in practical business situations.
  • •Strong problem-solving and organisational skills, including multi-tasking, prioritisation, and maintaining performance under pressure.
  • •Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across businesses and geographies.
