Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage the regulatory compliance components of licence authorisation processes to support the Airwallex Group’s expansion.
  • •Act as primary point-of-contact with regulators (CED/SFC/HKMA) for licence applications, business plan updates, and information requests.
  • •Maintain regulatory compliance and integrity risk reporting obligations in Hong Kong and support/manage regulatory requests.
  • •Advise the business on regulatory change initiatives and develop policies and processes for regulatory risk obligations within the first line business.
  • •Deliver the Compliance Monitoring Program, Airwallex compliance training for employees, and targeted thematic reviews, including Proactive Special Ops projects.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of compliance experience in a regulated financial institution, FinTech, legal/consulting firm, or combination of these.
  • •Familiarity with Hong Kong financial regulatory laws and rules, including the Money Service Operator (MSO) licensing regime, Securities and Futures Ordinance (SFO), and Payment Systems and Stored Value Facilities Ordinance (PSSVFO).
  • •Experience developing and/or maintaining a compliance program in a financial institution, preferably for payments activity.
  • •Exposure to licensing processes, regulatory expansion, and RegTech or technology-driven compliance solutions.
  • •Excellent written and verbal communication in English, Chinese & Cantonese, with the ability to explain complex regulatory topics to regulators and stakeholders.
