Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead estimation of flood flows using established methodologies in the Flood Estimations Handbook.
  • •Develop and check hydraulic models to support flood alleviation schemes, flood risk assessments, river restoration projects, or flood maps.
  • •Produce and review technical reports documenting model build and uncertainties, and scope modelling/hydrological approaches considering risks and opportunities.
  • •Collaborate with engineering teams on fluvial, coastal, surface water, or drainage flood risk management projects.
  • •Mentor staff and use AECOM project management systems to deliver quality outputs aligned to programme and budget.

Key Requirements

  • •Over 10 years of experience in flood modelling and flood risk assessment.
  • •Significant experience applying hydraulic modelling software (Flood Modeller and/or TUFLOW) and hydrological assessments using FEH and REFH2.
  • •Demonstrable experience working on projects in UK&I.
  • •Strong GIS skills using QGIS, ArcGIS and/or MapInfo.
  • •Fluent in English (oral and written).
