Build and scale the payments and treasury platform that powers Alpaca’s global financial infrastructure. You’ll design and implement event-driven, microservices-based systems that move money reliably and securely, with strong attention to scalability, system integrity, and developer-friendly APIs. Partner with the payments team to evolve a comprehensive treasury platform across markets and asset classes, using modern cloud and orchestration practices.

•Build and scale the systems and services that form the foundation of Alpaca and support millions of daily trades.
•Develop and maintain a modern global payments and treasury platform using scalable, event-driven architectures.
•Design and implement solutions to achieve defined goals, contributing to goal-setting with autonomy and strong engineering fundamentals.
•Collaborate with the team to integrate a comprehensive treasury platform into Alpaca’s end-to-end financial infrastructure globally.
•Ensure system integrity, resilience, and operational scalability through robust engineering practices.

Key Requirements

•3+ years building systems at scale, with proven experience maintaining microservices.
•Strong coding skills (preferably Go) and ability to write clean, well-tested, maintainable code.
•Experience with client-facing APIs and distributed systems design.
•Familiarity with containerization/orchestration technologies, especially Kubernetes, plus cloud experience (preferably Google Cloud Platform).
•Experience with messaging queues/message brokers and relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL), with knowledge of payment rails and the payment lifecycle.
