Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and design SCMS/Substation Automation System (SAS)/EMS architecture across station, bay, and process levels.
  • •Prepare/review engineering deliverables including system architecture diagrams, I/O lists, signal interfacing, network/communication layouts, and HMI and database configurations.
  • •Interface SCMS with substation equipment (protection relays, tele-protection systems, GIS/AIS switchgear, transformers, feeders, LCC panels, and auxiliary systems).
  • •Design and review control logic, interlocking schemes, and automation sequences; ensure SCMS integration with IEC 61850 and IEC 60870-5-101/104.
  • •Lead telecommunication systems integration (MPLS, SDH, OFC/OPGW, 4G/5G, Wireless), implement cybersecurity aligned with IEC 62443, and support FAT/SAT, commissioning, vendor reviews, and compliance documentation.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in electrical / Instrumentation / Control Engineering.
  • •8–15+ years of experience in SCMS/SCADA/substation automation systems for power transmission substations (EHV/HV/MV).
  • •Strong knowledge of substation primary/secondary equipment and protection systems/tele-protection schemes.
  • •Hands-on experience with IEC 61850 and IEC 60870 protocols, including RTUs, BCUs, and IEDs integration.
  • •Knowledge of telecommunication systems (MPLS, SDH, FOC/OPGW, Microwave, 4G/5G) and cybersecurity in substations/OT (IEC 62443 or equivalent).
