Key Responsibilities

  • •Design, develop, and maintain Splunk Platform components across cloud providers and on-prem infrastructure with a focus on scalability, security, and maintainability.
  • •Design, implement, test, and deploy distributed systems.
  • •Apply distributed systems best practices, including debugging, performance tuning, and reliability engineering (e.g., Kubernetes controllers, database platforms, data replication).
  • •Define and improve service health indicators, observability, SLOs, RPO/RTO targets, alerting, runbooks, and end-to-end recovery testing.
  • •Lead incident diagnosis and learning, and mentor engineers while translating roadmap items into designs, APIs, milestones, and engineering decisions.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years designing and operating large-scale distributed systems or SaaS platform infrastructure.
  • •Strong proficiency in Go and/or C++ for production systems, plus scripting experience in Python or Bash.
  • •Experience building Kubernetes-native software (Custom Controllers/Operators) and deploying resilient applications across AWS, GCP, and/or Azure.
  • •Deep understanding of concurrency, data replication, idempotency, partial failures, and eventual consistency.
  • •Proven ability to lead technical design reviews, author RFCs/design docs, and mentor engineering teams.
