Key Responsibilities

  • •Plan, coordinate, and undertake geotechnical site investigations, including drilling supervision, sampling, and in-situ testing.
  • •Perform soil profiling and rock core logging per AS 1726:2017 Geotechnical Site Investigations and coordinate laboratory testing programs.
  • •Collect and manage soil and rock samples and coordinate laboratory testing programs.
  • •Prepare factual and interpretive reports and conduct desktop studies with data review and interpretation.
  • •Communicate effectively with clients, contractors and project teams to resolve geotechnical challenges.
Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

  • •Ideally 2-10 years’ experience in engineering geology or geotechnical engineering, ideally within a consulting environment.
  • •Relevant tertiary degree e.g. Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline and professional registration or working towards RPGeo, CPEng, or RPEQ (or eligibility through mutual recognition pathways).
  • •Willingness to undertake regular fieldwork and travel when required.
  • •Strong understanding of soil and rock mechanics, slope stability and site investigation practices.
  • •Familiarity with geotechnical software such as OpenGround / gINT, and 2D and 3D geotechnical software such as Rocscience, GeoStudio, PLAXIS, or SLOPE/W, working knowledge of Leapfrog or similar geotechnical modelling software and AutoCAD highly regarded.
