Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and optimize electrical systems for mining and industrial projects, including power, control, instrumentation, and communications.
  • •Design surface and underground electrical systems (e.g., mine power distribution, ventilation controls, materials handling conveyance, dewatering and pumping systems).
  • •Prepare and review technical specifications, engineering drawings, and functional descriptions for electrical/control systems (substations, switchgear, MCCs).
  • •Lead electrical engineering tasks across project phases and ensure delivery on time, within budget, and in compliance with client/regulatory requirements.
  • •Provide operational technical support to troubleshoot electrical and control system issues and develop maintenance strategies to improve reliability and lifespan.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or related field).
  • •8+ years of electrical engineering and design experience in multidisciplinary teams for heavy industries.
  • •Registered as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia (or another province and eligible for BC registration).
  • •Proven experience producing engineering documents such as procurement packages, P&IDs, single line diagrams, control network diagrams, and electrical location drawings.
  • •Familiarity with the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and applicable industry standards; experience using power system modeling tools (eTAP, PTW, or equivalent).
