Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide personal financial counseling and management services to military service members and their families during short-term surge, on-demand, and replacement assignments.
  • •Deliver one-on-one counseling, consultations with commanders or providers/staff, and conduct briefings, presentations, and referrals/resources outside counseling sessions.
  • •Assist service members with establishing spending plans for extended absences and develop and provide informational financial materials for service members and families.
  • •Coordinate, publicize, and deliver Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle, and respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
  • •Manage duty-to-warn situations per DoD protocol, communicate with leadership, participate in supervision and training, and use virtual counseling/electronic communication modes when authorized.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 50,225 - 75,335 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree required; may consider an associate degree plus 4 years' experience or a high school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • •Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
  • •Possess one of: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and have 1,000+ hours of financial counseling experience.
  • •Be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation and pass the OCI process for organizational conflicts of interest.
  • •Be able to use virtual counseling and electronic communication modes (e.g., secure online chat, video) when authorized; bilingual English/Spanish may be required.
