Key Responsibilities

  • •Maintain compliance with health and safety policies, including risk assessments, COSHH, and safe storage of materials.
  • •Ensure workshops, tools, machinery, and materials are safe, maintained, and ready for use, including routine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • •Prepare and set up tools, equipment, and materials in advance of lessons to support IB, British, and NCfE delivery.
  • •Assist teachers and students during practical sessions, including designing and making activities.
  • •Manufacture and adapt teaching aids, prototypes, jigs, fixtures, and resource packs; organize storage of student work and support displays and projects.

Key Requirements

  • •Relevant qualification or certification in Design & Technology, Engineering, Workshop Practice, or a related field.
  • •Proven experience working with workshop machinery and tools (woodworking, metalworking, plastics).
  • •Strong knowledge of workshop health and safety practices, including COSHH, risk assessments, and safe machine use.
  • •Hands-on ability to manufacture and repair items with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • •ICT proficiency (MS Office) and willingness to learn systems such as CAD/CAM software, laser cutters, and CNC machines.
