Job Summary

Lead the governance and delivery of major UK & Ireland cement capital projects through ideation, concept development, feasibility, and investment approval, then oversee execution and commissioning. Shape and prioritize the strategic project portfolio, direct the central strategic projects team, and coordinate internal and external stakeholders across technical, legal, procurement, and finance functions. Own risk management, safety, budget, schedule certainty, and contract close-out from development through handover to operations.

Key Responsibilities

•Ensure successful development of the project pipeline through ideation, concept, feasibility, and execution stages while meeting safety, budget, operational efficiency, schedule certainty, and risk management objectives.
•Shape and prioritize the strategic development portfolio and lead the UK & Ireland central strategic projects team to manage design, approval, and development.
•Coordinate internal and external stakeholders (including OEMs, designers, consultants, contractors) through the project lifecycle.
•Identify, assess, manage, and mitigate risks across all project phases and oversee governance through execution and commissioning.
•Support commissioning and handover to OpCos, define reporting/communication plans, and support commercial contract close-out including dispute resolution where required.

Key Requirements

•Degree in Engineering with at least 15 years’ experience in the cement industry, primarily within the engineering domain.
•Experience managing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously across all phases of the project lifecycle.
•Strong understanding of cement and concrete production processes, raw materials, equipment, and sector technical challenges.
•Operational exposure and commercial environment knowledge to collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders and Group functions.
•Contract law training (advantage) and/or complementary financial/business qualifications (advantage).
