Job Summary

Roadway Engineer responsible for designing roadway, intersection, and pedestrian improvements for public agencies in the Omaha area. You’ll perform design analysis, prepare plans and cost estimates, ensure quality and schedule adherence, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support business development while applying civil design software to deliver safe, future-ready transportation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform engineering tasks related to the design of roadway, intersection, and pedestrian projects for public agencies, including design analysis and plans production.
•Prepare plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates, including drafting report text and response to comments.
•Ensure production meets scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
•Attend client meetings and assist in preparation for presentations to clients.
•Assist in project management activities, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordination of tasks.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related discipline; 3-6 years of post-education experience in civil design.
•Engineer in Training Certification.
•Knowledge of civil engineering principles and design/build workflows, permits, and project work.
•Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management including rehabilitation and new design.
•Proficiency with discipline-specific design software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Bentley OpenRoads Designer, Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoTurn, Bentley ProjectWise).
