Job Summary

Lead airfield civil engineering design and construction support for airport projects in India and the UK, delivering concepts through detailed design and construction oversight. As Principal Engineer in WSP’s aviation team, you’ll shape the airfield design strategy, mentor junior engineers, coordinate with clients, and ensure compliance with ICAO/FAA standards across multi-disciplinary aviation programs.

Key Responsibilities

•Act as design lead for airfield civil engineering projects, taking ownership of the delivery from concept through to detailed design and construction support.
•Lead and mentor junior engineers, plan work, and manage multiple technical engineering projects to meet client deadlines.
•Contribute to technical design reviews to meet quality requirements and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
•Provide technical input throughout the full design process and coordinate designs with team members, industry associates and clients.
•Prepare technical reports, calculations, drawings and specifications related to airfield engineering projects in the UK and overseas.

Key Requirements

•5 years of civil infrastructure design experience at airports.
•Civil engineering experience of working on large, technically complex multi-disciplinary airport projects from concept through to detailed design and construction support.
•Experience managing engineering professionals in the delivery of technical aviation projects.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills when providing design information or interacting with team members, industry associates and Clients.
•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives both in the UK and India.
