Principal Ecologist

Provide technical leadership for freshwater, wetland, and terrestrial ecology projects across AECOM’s Natural Resources/Ecology team. Lead planning and delivery of ecological field surveys and monitoring programmes, oversee biodiversity assessments and restoration initiatives, and ensure high-quality technical reporting for impact assessments, tenders, and proposals. Mentor developing ecologists, manage projects, budgets, and client relationships, and stay current on New Zealand biodiversity policy, legislation, and best practice.
