Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide project technical support and take responsibility for transmission overhead line design for OHL projects up to 400kV.
  • •Deliver overhead line design on complex multi-discipline projects and support large programmes of work (e.g., GGP projects).
  • •Write proposals and outline project details including timeline, resources, budget, objectives, and goals.
  • •Support project implementation, statutory planning, and participation in public consultation events.
  • •Perform overhead line design activities including PLS-CADD modelling, line routing, structural analysis, loading trees, sag-tension calculations, and engineering deliverables (drawings, reports, proposals, drawing packages).

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical discipline, electrical engineering or power engineering.
  • •Professionally qualified CEng Chartered Engineer with a recognized electrical engineering institution (e.g., IET).
  • •Experience delivering UK transmission system operator projects (e.g., National Grid, SSE, SPT) in line with their standards.
  • •Project experience in overhead line engineering (ideally up to 400kV).
  • •Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
