Key Responsibilities

•Lead the execution and implementation of Mastercard’s AP acceptance growth strategy in Japan, identifying barriers to growth and communicating strategic initiatives to senior stakeholders.
•Drive expansion and engagement in key verticals by leveraging broader organizational assets to achieve a step change in acceptance growth.
•Collaborate with merchant-side ecosystem (Acquirers, PSPs, PayFacs) to increase profitability and utilization of existing card acceptance infrastructure.
•Manage key channel partners (PayFacs, PSPs, Solution Vendors) and coordinate with market and divisional teams on acceptance growth initiatives.
•Identify and deploy value-added services and capabilities with the merchant-side ecosystem and drive Contactless expansion across the region.

Key Requirements

•Minimum of 3 years of experience in product management or business development within the payments industry; experience in merchant-facing roles is preferred.
•Solid understanding of Japan and global payments trends, with awareness of technological advances and consumer behavioral shifts in payments.
•Strong strategic thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to distill complex market dynamics into executable strategy.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver compelling presentations to executive audiences.
•Fluency in Japanese and business-level English; ability to influence at all levels and manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
