Key Responsibilities

  • •Adhere to Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and provide a safe environment for employees, customers, and visitors.
  • •Perform inbound scale operations: identify load contents, determine weight, and direct customers to the appropriate unloading areas.
  • •Perform outbound scale operations: identify commodity codes and compute ticket totals for payment.
  • •Assist customers with pricing questions and materials accepted, and communicate scrap quality and acceptance procedures in compliance with regulations and policies.
  • •Complete documentation and DMV forms for yard vehicle entries; test scales for accuracy and report equipment malfunctions to supervisors.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED (preferred) and 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role or scrap industry (preferred).
  • •Ability to build and maintain constructive, cooperative working relationships with customers and employees.
  • •Knowledge of metals identification and grading according to ISRI specifications.
  • •Mathematical and problem-solving skills, basic negotiation skills, attention to detail, and basic typing skills.
