Job Summary

Develop and maintain high-fidelity behavioral simulations of electromechanical actuators and sensors to reduce risk and define requirements for guidance, navigation, and control mechanisms. Build low-fidelity surrogate models for system-level integration, validate simulations against testbed data, and produce rapid-turnaround study results. Collaborate with sponsors, translate technical outputs into plots and PowerPoint presentations, and support vendor technical integration within a small onsite team.

Key Responsibilities

•Maintain, modify, and develop high-fidelity behavioral simulations of electromechanical actuators and sensors.
•Tune and validate simulations against actual testbed data to ensure physical accuracy.
•Use high-fidelity models for risk reduction activities and to establish technical requirements for future mechanism versions.
•Create and maintain low-fidelity surrogate models for use in larger, integrated system simulations.
•Execute rapid-turnaround sponsor-driven studies (2–3-week cycles) and communicate results via plots and presentations; support simulation maintenance and vendor technical integration.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in STEM and a minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience.
•Experience with Matlab and Simulink, and the C programming language.
•Experience in signal processing.
•Experience developing clear, adaptable models of complex electromechanical systems and validating them against testbed data.
•Experience with high-bandwidth mechatronics and dynamics, including research and development of precision pointing systems.
