Job Summary

Manage daily operations of the Tool Room and Tool Crib to ensure tools, fixtures, and equipment are available for production schedules. Oversee inventory of cutting tools and related consumables, set min/max inventory levels, and reconcile physical vs. system records for MRO spare parts and production fixtures. Lead tooling setup, presetting, tool-life monitoring, supplier coordination, repair/calibration, and continuous improvement while ensuring quality, safety, environmental compliance, and coaching the team.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage and supervise daily operations of the Tool Room and Tool Crib.
•Ensure timely availability of tools, fixtures, and equipment to support production schedules.
•Manage inventories, set minimum/maximum levels, and reconcile physical vs. system records for MRO spare parts and production fixtures.
•Coordinate procurement of tooling/equipment/services and negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and support agreements with suppliers.
•Lead tooling setup, presetting, CNC machining center preparation, tool-life monitoring, tooling optimization, databases/specifications, and maintenance/calibration coordination while ensuring 5S and quality/safety/environmental compliance.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Mechanical Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
•Minimum 5 years of experience managing a Tool Room/Tool Crib department or function.
•Knowledge of CNC Machining Centers and CNC Lathes.
•Knowledge of metal cutting tooling applications, including selection of inserts, tool holders, and workholding systems.
•Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, etc.), inventory management, metrology and calibration, and lean/5S/Kaizen methodologies.
