Job Summary

Deliver drainage design and civil engineering projects for transportation infrastructure, supporting UK clients from concept through detailed design. Work across rail, highway, local authority and aviation schemes, ensuring high technical standards and commercial success. At senior grades, lead client relationships and attend progress meetings, and manage drainage engineers to support their technical development and project resourcing within WSP’s sustainable water management team.

Key Responsibilities

•Deliver civil engineering projects for highway, rail, infrastructure and site development schemes.
•Manage projects from concept through completion, achieving high technical standards, timely delivery, and commercial success.
•Provide drainage services for major transport and infrastructure projects across the UK.
•Lead client relationships and attend client progress meetings (more senior grades).
•Manage a team of drainage engineers, supporting technical development and ensuring project resourcing (more senior grades).

Key Requirements

•Chartered or Incorporated Engineer and/or degree qualified (role dependant).
•Extensive and proven post-degree experience designing sustainable drainage solutions.
•Strong knowledge of drainage design principles to manage infrastructure drainage.
•Experience using Civil 3D and/or Causeway Flow software/MicroDrainage.
•Proven knowledge of relevant technical standards, UK Building Regulations, design standards, codes of practice, and Health & Safety regulations.
