Key Responsibilities

  • •Own components and complex mechanical assemblies end-to-end from requirements and conceptual design through prototyping, testing, and volume manufacturing.
  • •Create high-fidelity 3D models and fully defined 2D drawing packages in accordance with ASME Y14.5 (GD&T).
  • •Design parts across multiple fabrication processes including CNC machining, weldments, sheet metal, injection molding, composite layups, and structural adhesive bonding.
  • •Validate structural, thermal, vibrational, and tolerance-stackup performance using first-principles engineering plus FEA/hand calculations.
  • •Run prototyping and test execution, author detailed test plans, and collaborate with Electrical, Manufacturing, Quality, Safety, and Test teams plus external suppliers to resolve hardware bottlenecks.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related fields.
  • •7+ years of professional mechanical design experience taking physical hardware from concept through fabrication and functional test.
  • •High proficiency in parametric 3D CAD (SolidWorks, NX, or Creo) and PLM/PDM environments (e.g., Teamcenter).
  • •Working knowledge of engineering drawings and ASME Y14.5 GD&T plus tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • •Hands-on prototyping and fabrication experience root-causing manufacturing and hardware defects.
