Job Summary

Install and test audio-visual collaboration systems for AVI-SPL projects, including cabling, rack fabrication, equipment mounting, and interpreting blueprints and schematics. Lead internal or subcontracted installation crews on large, complex jobs, coordinate progress and documentation with the Project Manager, and support minor engineering/programming changes. Provide onsite client support and training, troubleshoot system functionality, and travel to customer sites as needed.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform installation tasks for AV-SPL contracted projects, including cable pulls/terminations, equipment installation, rack fabrication/wiring, and layout for equipment and metal fabrication.
•Lead and direct installation crews on large and complex projects, mentor onsite technicians, and verify quality of work.
•Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints; solder and crimp connectors; and test point-to-point cabling and system functionality.
•Coordinate system testing and report progress to the Project Manager to ensure projects meet time, scope, budget, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction requirements.
•Act as onsite customer liaison (including directing change requests to the Project Manager), communicate with other trades, perform client training, and travel to job sites as required.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 6–8 years of audiovisual, electronics, or related installation experience.
•Fluency in Japanese and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
•Advanced proficiency installing, terminating, and troubleshooting low-voltage cabling (e.g., HDMI, CAT5e/6, fiber optic) and wiring methods such as conduit runs and cable trays.
•Expert-level understanding of network infrastructure integrated with AV systems (IP-based systems, streaming, cloud-based services) and ability to troubleshoot complex issues using logs/diagnostic tools.
•Ability to lead and manage site teams on large-scale projects and use hand and power tools safely; must have full working rights in Japan.
