Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma.
  • •7 years of road and bridge construction inspection and testing experience (or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience); Engineering Interns (EI) may be eligible without experience.
  • •Ability to attain NCDOT Concrete Field Technician, NCDOT Conventional Density, Level II Erosion & Sediment Control/Storm water, NCDOT QMS Roadway Technician, and NCDOT ABC and Borrow Pit Sampling certifications within 90 days (±) or as class scheduling allows.
  • •Ability to accurately keep records, compute field data, and read and interpret construction plans.
  • •Basic proficiency with technical writing and office automation/software/spreadsheets/tools, plus the physical ability to perform inspection activities (squatting, bending, lifting, climbing, traversing difficult terrain).
