Job Summary

Conduct and interpret construction inspections for road and bridge projects in Raleigh, partnering with the Construction Management Team. Review plans, schedules, and quantities; verify work is performed safely and per project specifications; and support senior inspectors across construction inspection, surveying, and material sampling/testing. Perform standardized and non-standardized field tests while compiling, analyzing, and processing field data, maintaining accurate records, and upholding ethical conduct and safety policies.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma.
•7 years of road and bridge construction inspection and testing experience (or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience); Engineering Interns (EI) may be eligible without experience.
•Ability to attain NCDOT Concrete Field Technician, NCDOT Conventional Density, Level II Erosion & Sediment Control/Storm water, NCDOT QMS Roadway Technician, and NCDOT ABC and Borrow Pit Sampling certifications within 90 days (±) or as class scheduling allows.
•Ability to accurately keep records, compute field data, and read and interpret construction plans.
•Basic proficiency with technical writing and office automation/software/spreadsheets/tools, plus the physical ability to perform inspection activities (squatting, bending, lifting, climbing, traversing difficult terrain).
