Key Responsibilities

  • •Design multi-step agent orchestration, tool use, and retrieval grounded in Ebury’s data stores using the Strands Agents SDK.
  • •Own end-to-end development across React/TypeScript frontend and Python/FastAPI backend, balancing iteration with platform maintainability.
  • •Extend the reasoning layer (Chain-of-Thought UI) to provide explainability, including showing why an agent made a decision.
  • •Improve agent reliability using evaluation harnesses and an observability platform with session continuity (Ragas, Langfuse).
  • •Integrate internal APIs, data warehouses, email, and cross-cloud GCP/AWS services with robust error handling and distributed tracing.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • •Strong Python backend expertise with FastAPI (or Django/Flask), including asynchronous programming and production-grade code.
  • •Strong React and TypeScript skills, with the ability to architect non-trivial frontends with solid state management, performance, and testing.
  • •Proven system design judgment for scalable, maintainable systems and clear architectural trade-offs.
  • •Proficiency with API integration (REST and streaming such as SSE/WebSockets) and real-world handling of upstream complexity.
