Job Summary

Lead pipeline engineering design for energy transition projects across concept, FEED, and detailed design phases. Work within WSP’s Energy Transition team to develop practical, cost-effective solutions for transmission systems involving natural gas, hydrogen, and carbon dioxide. Prepare pipeline deliverables, perform routing and population studies, and support above-ground installations, high-pressure diversions, and 3D model/layout development while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the development of pipeline engineering mechanical designs for transmission projects, including natural gas (below and above 7 bar), hydrogen, and carbon dioxide.
•Deliver pipeline design work across feasibility, concept design, FEED studies, value engineering, and detailed design, including opportunities for site work.
•Prepare pipeline deliverables and above ground installations deliverables such as wall thickness calculations and piping specifications.
•Undertake pipeline routing and population studies, including high pressure pipeline diversions.
•Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to develop designs, support layouts and 3D models, and contribute to multi-disciplinary proposals and bids.

Key Requirements

•A Degree in a relevant Engineering subject.
•Chartered Engineer or working towards IEng/Ceng and a member of a relevant Engineering Institute.
•Understanding of IGEM/TD/1 and TD/13, and gas network operators addendums.
•Experience delivering concept, FEED, and detail design work for pipelines and above ground installations.
•Be familiar with Autodesk tools including AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Navisworks, and BIM360, and be proficient with MS Office for technical reporting and calculations.
