Job Summary

Lead a data engineering team to design, build, and maintain scalable data architecture, ETL pipelines, and data processing systems that support customer and business needs. Drive cloud and on-prem modernization with Azure and modern data platforms, overseeing event-driven streaming and reliable production operations. Provide hands-on technical leadership (coaching, code reviews, architecture guidance), adopt AI-assisted development, and coordinate cross-functionally to resolve issues and communicate risks and progress.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and mentor the data engineering team, including capacity management, delegation, sprint/user story assignments, and backlog prioritization.
•Design and maintain scalable data pipelines, ETL workflows, and data architecture, including ingestion, transformation, validation, and integration.
•Drive cloud-native modernization initiatives on Azure and support migration of legacy/on-prem data systems to cloud platforms.
•Manage production data processes, respond to incidents, and ensure reliability, performance, and scalability.
•Translate business requirements into technical solutions, coordinate cross-functionally, and communicate risks, dependencies, and blockers to leadership.

Key Requirements

•Lead and mentor a data engineering team while maintaining high technical and delivery standards.
•Expertise in building scalable data pipelines, ETL workflows, and data architecture.
•Strong Python experience for ETL, orchestration, and automation, plus advanced SQL development and performance tuning.
•Experience with database development across Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server, including UNIX/Shell scripting.
•Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and event streaming/messaging such as Kafka and Azure Event Hub.
