Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as the Senior Authorised Person (SAP) for Southampton Port, ensuring compliance with electrical safety procedures and statutory requirements.
  • •Maintain the availability and reliability of the port’s electrical distribution network.
  • •Lead electrical switching operations and provide technical support during planned maintenance and emergency outages.
  • •Manage electrical infrastructure projects from design through construction and commissioning, including oversight of contractors and specialist engineering suppliers.
  • •Develop maintenance strategies and ensure SCADA, BMS, and metering systems effectively monitor electrical assets and energy consumption.

Key Requirements

  • •HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • •Experience operating, maintaining, and developing HV (> max 11kV) and LV electrical infrastructure.
  • •Senior Authorised Person (SAP) experience or capability to undertake SAP responsibilities.
  • •Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, substations, protection systems, and power networks.
  • •Experience managing electrical engineering projects and contractors, with strong electrical safety legislation and safe systems of work knowledge.
