Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide visible safety leadership across all longwall activities.
  • •Lead longwall production teams to achieve safety, production, and operational objectives.
  • •Coordinate daily and weekly priorities across production, maintenance, and technical functions.
  • •Monitor longwall performance and respond to changing conditions, risks, and production constraints.
  • •Ensure compliance with legislative requirements, site standards, and the Safety and Health Management System, including leading operational controls, risk assessments, and TARPs.

Key Requirements

  • •Extensive operational leadership experience in underground coal mining, with strong longwall production knowledge and second workings experience.
  • •Demonstrated experience leading large operational teams with a practical, visible leadership style.
  • •Strong knowledge of Queensland coal mining legislation and underground safety systems.
  • •Experience managing operational risk, TARPs, and changing mining conditions.
  • •Relevant underground coal mining qualifications/competencies, including a current Australian driver’s licence (statutory competencies considered in selection).
