Job Summary

Lead Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) for a major infrastructure project in Japan, from pre-Final Investment Decision (FID) through execution. Establish the HSE organization and governance, implement HSE management systems and standards, and drive training, audits, and compliance reviews across project teams and multiple contractors. Identify hazards and risks, manage corrective actions, and produce timely HSE reporting to support key development milestones and a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

•Establish and lead the project HSE organization and governance structure.
•Implement and maintain project HSE management systems, procedures, and standards throughout the project lifecycle.
•Ensure effective adoption of HSE procedures across project teams and contractors, aligned with local requirements and best practices in Japan.
•Deliver HSE training, coaching, and awareness programs for project personnel and key stakeholders.
•Monitor HSE performance, conduct audits/inspections/compliance reviews, and manage incident records, reporting, and corrective actions.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, Project Management, Law, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or a related discipline.
•Proven project HSE management experience in large-scale construction, infrastructure, industrial, energy, or technology projects.
•Strong understanding of HSE management systems, risk assessment, incident prevention, and regulatory compliance.
•Experience working in complex environments with multiple contractors and stakeholders.
•Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
