Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair vehicle systems including electrical, brakes, cooling, starters/alternators, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
  • •Inspect, test, and evaluate defective equipment using test instruments; road test vehicles as needed to confirm proper operation.
  • •Manage parts inventory and equipment on the company-issued service truck, including periodic reconciliation.
  • •Complete DOT forms and repair order documentation, including uploading pictures of work performed, parts used, and findings using a company iOS device and TRAIT application.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma/GED and 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination including additional education/certification or 5 years of related experience.
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools needed to perform required duties.
  • •Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
  • •Be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment, or submit a current DOT medical card with sufficient remaining validity.
  • •Be at least 21 years or older and hold a valid driver’s license; maintain a Driver Qualification File.
