Job Summary

Lead the end-to-end design and delivery of resilient, cloud-native data platforms and microservices. Set technical direction, modernize legacy systems, and stay hands-on with Java/Spring Boot while unblocking teams through code reviews, debugging, performance tuning, and incident resolution. Own solution architecture and engineering standards (APIs, event-driven integration, CI/CD, operational readiness) and drive GCP delivery across Dataflow, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, and GKE.

Key Responsibilities

•Own solution architecture for high-performance data pipelines and microservices, including non-functional requirements like resilience, scalability, latency, observability, and security.
•Define and drive modernization roadmaps (re-platform, refactor, microservices decomposition) with minimal disruption to live services.
•Establish engineering standards for API design, event-driven integration, data modelling, testing strategy, CI/CD, and operational readiness.
•Architect and build core Java services (Java 8+, Spring Boot 3, JPA, PostgreSQL/RDBMS) and lead real-time processing using Apache Flink (and/or Apache Beam).
•Coach and mentor engineers and communicate with senior stakeholders; proactively manage risks, dependencies, and delivery impediments.

Key Requirements

•15+ years in software engineering with significant experience designing and delivering distributed systems and data-intensive applications.
•Strong hands-on Java experience with Spring Boot, REST/event-driven services, ORM (JPA/Hibernate), and SQL performance tuning.
•Proven system design skills including microservices patterns, async messaging, idempotency, consistency models, caching, rate limiting, and failure handling.
•Solid experience delivering cloud-native solutions, preferably on GCP (or equivalent cloud).
•Ability to troubleshoot across application, data, infrastructure, and performance layers, with clear communication aligned to business priorities and operational constraints.
