Job Summary

Conduct safety engineering activities for allocated projects/products, producing required artefacts on time, budget, and quality. Identify and mitigate safety hazards and risks, develop safety program plans, safety case reports, hazard logs, and risk assessments, and ensure safety requirements are embedded in the solution baseline with demonstrated verification & validation. Lead system safety working groups and apply model-based system engineering to manage safety data and improve safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

•Conduct safety engineering activities and deliver required artefacts on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
•Identify and address safety hazards and risks, ensuring compliance with legislations, safety policies, and the Thales Solution Safety Management System.
•Develop and maintain safety key artefacts such as safety program plans, safety case reports, hazard logs, and risk assessments.
•Partner with engineering integrated product teams to derive safety requirements, ensure inclusion in the solution design baseline, and demonstrate compliance via verification & validation.
•Participate in and/or chair system safety working groups, safety review boards, and committees; apply model-based system engineering and manage safety data.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar or adjacent role in a safety-critical industry.
•Experience with the Systems Safety Engineering process and applying system safety analysis and operational risk management techniques.
•Working knowledge of core system safety analysis techniques and familiarity with Eurocontrol Safety Assessment Methodology (FHA, PHA, PSSA, SSA, ETA, FTA, HAZOP, FMECA, RAM).
•Knowledge of international safety standards such as ARP 4761/4754, DO-278A/178C, and ED-153.
•Engineering or Computer Science degree; System Safety degree.
