Job Summary

Supervise structural, piping, and pipeline welding activities on board offshore barges and vessels. Plan staffing, equipment, and welding consumables ahead of offshore mobilization, coordinate with welding supervisors/inspectors and third-party NDT, and lead welding trials, procedure qualification, and welder training. Key Responsibilities

•Supervise structural, piping, and pipeline welding activities on board offshore barges/vessels.
•Identify personnel, equipment, and welding consumable requirements to meet project needs prior to offshore mobilization.
•Coordinate with welding supervisors/foremen, welding inspectors, and third-party NDT personnel.
•Carry out welding trials, qualify welding procedures, and train welders/welding operators offshore.
•Implement welding and QA/QC procedures, maintain welder qualification validity, conduct toolbox meetings, monitor welding consumables, troubleshoot welding issues, and ensure compliance with HSE and company codes.

Key Requirements

•12 years’ schooling with technical qualification in pipeline welding, including SMAW, FCAW, mechanised SAW, and automatic welding with GMAW (pulsed).
•Minimum 12 years’ hands-on welding experience, including at least 6 years as a Welding Supervisor.
•Working knowledge of structural, piping and pipeline welding codes such as AWS D1.1, ASME B31.3, API 1104 and DNV OS-F 101.
•Sound knowledge of welding processes including SMAW, SAW, GMAW, FCAW (inner shield) and STT, and welding of materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and CRA clad steel.
•Ability to read and understand welding procedure specification and inspection plan documents; good written and spoken English; capable of interpreting radiography films of welded joints.
