Key Responsibilities

  • •Direct and supervise the marine workforce, facilities, and equipment to safely transfer materials between vessel and dock.
  • •Direct and supervise rail activity, including loading and unloading vehicles.
  • •Study receiving/shipping notices and schedule material handling activities; confer with supervisors to coordinate flow of materials and products.
  • •Verify and prepare records such as routing slips, material requisitions, and job orders; maintain time and production records.
  • •Interpret company policies and job orders, assign duties, adjust work procedures to meet production schedules, and analyze/resolve work problems.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum five years of successful work experience in the terminal industry, specializing in stevedoring of vessels.
  • •Minimum three years in a lead position or higher capacity.
  • •Valid North Carolina Driver's License (or ability to obtain).
  • •Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with a diverse workforce, including ability to accept direction and work cooperatively.
  • •Familiarity with products, modes of transport, and methods for handling dry bulk materials; must work in all weather and be available for all shifts and weekends.
