Job Summary

Build and enhance HSBC’s AI Gateway platform within CTO Platforms, owning the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of core services and integrations. Operate the platform by triaging SRE alerts, performing root-cause analysis, and implementing preventive automation to improve reliability. Support users by troubleshooting AI gateway usage issues and maintaining runbooks/FAQs, while working with API gateway, Kubernetes, cloud, and messaging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

•Build and enhance the AI Gateway platform, including designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining core services and integrations.
•Respond to SRE alerts: triage incidents, mitigate issues, drive recovery, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver preventive fixes/automation.
•Respond to user queries and troubleshoot usage issues; keep basic runbooks and FAQs up to date.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 5+ years of software engineering experience building or operating large-scale platforms.
•Hands-on experience with API gateway and/or AI gateway patterns such as routing, policy enforcement, rate limiting, tenant isolation, authentication/authorization, and observability (Kong strongly preferred).
•Strong programming skills in Golang or Python/Java, with solid fundamentals in concurrency and performance for distributed systems.
•Experience with Kong and associated ecosystem components (e.g., Lua, Nginx/OpenResty) including custom plugin development, request/response transformations, and traffic management.
•Practical experience with Kubernetes and enterprise ingress/service networking, plus production cloud operations (monitoring, alerting, incident response, capacity planning).
