Key Responsibilities

  • •Supervise the creation of 3D environments, sets, and props aligned with the Production Designer’s and Art Director’s vision and visual style.
  • •Interpret design intent and ensure consistency across the film by leading environment modeling reviews and giving clear, constructive feedback.
  • •Ensure environment models meet technical requirements and pipeline standards for integration with Layout, Surfacing, FX, CFX, and Lighting.
  • •Collaborate with Technical Supervisors, TDs, and Production Technology to refine environment modeling tools, workflows, and asset libraries.
  • •Mentor and support environment modelers, contribute to performance feedback and skill development, and help foster an inclusive team culture.

Key Requirements

  • •Significant experience as an Environment/Set/Prop Modeler in feature animation, VFX, or high-end games/series, including time in a Lead or Supervisory role.
  • •A strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in environment and prop modeling (stylized and/or realistic) with understanding of design, form, scale, and composition.
  • •Proficiency with Maya and sculpting tools such as ZBrush or Mudbox; experience with Houdini or SpeedTree (or similar) is a plus.
  • •Strong understanding of how environments integrate with Layout, Surfacing, FX, CFX, and Lighting in a production pipeline.
  • •Great communication and leadership skills, plus strong organizational and time-management abilities.
