Key Responsibilities

  • •Independently fabricate and repair equipment and furnishings using metal processing trade duties (sandblast, clean, sand, power wash, prime, stain, paint, and chemical processing).
  • •Maintain proper chemical balance for etching, alodine, and related metal-processing tanks and keep chemical balance correct across tanks.
  • •Use and maintain tools and equipment, and perform paint sanding booth/sandblaster maintenance including dust cleanup, disposal, and waste turn-in recordkeeping.
  • •Perform required surface preparation and finishing steps, including degreasing, media blasting/surface sanding, chemical finishing, masking, priming, and painting.
  • •Comply with hazardous waste environmental requirements, enter time spent into the DCRS system, and keep records of maintenance performed.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum two years of practical experience in metal processing, including fabrication and repair.
  • •Experience with sandblast, cleaning, sanding, power wash, priming, staining, painting, chemical processing, and silk screening.
  • •Experience assisting in reviewing and interpreting drawings, blueprints, and related information.
  • •Knowledge of metal processing techniques and finishes, including chemical etching and anodizing, plus identification and surface preparation.
  • •High school diploma required; must possess two forms of unexpired identification to meet eligibility requirements.
