Job Summary

Provide technical leadership as the electrical design authority for high-reliability power systems across data centre and industrial infrastructure projects. You’ll lead HV/MV and LV design, prepare calculations and budgets, coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering work, and manage electrical projects from inception to close-out. Work with clients as a trusted technical advisor to secure repeat business, and perform power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash) using eTAP or equivalent tools.

Key Responsibilities

•Act as electrical design authority for high-reliability power systems across data centre and industrial infrastructure projects.
•Lead the design and delivery of HV/MV and LV electrical systems, emphasizing resilience, redundancy, and operational continuity.
•Prepare accurate designs and design calculations, develop budgets and tender specifications, and provide project financial control and construction monitoring.
•Collaborate with global multi-disciplinary engineering teams and coordinate the electrical design process through all project stages.
•Lead and review power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash) and manage client relationships as a trusted technical advisor.

Key Requirements

•Minimum BSc Eng or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
•Professional Registration with ECSA (Pr.Eng or Pr.Tech Eng) required.
•At least 10 years consulting engineering experience with building services and industrial environments.
•Strong knowledge of MV and LV power distribution systems and large-scale standby generation, synchronisation schemes, and system resilience.
•Working knowledge of IEC, SANS and BS standards applicable to MV/LV power systems (data centre standards such as TIA-942/Uptime principles advantageous).
