Job Summary

Lead a core engineering squad responsible for developing and enhancing Tamara’s payment solutions. Manage 4–6 engineers across Backend, Frontend, and QA, providing technical direction, coaching, and quality practices such as code reviews and testing. Own execution of the team roadmap, manage risks, and drive adoption of engineering best practices including CI/CD and observability. Collaborate closely with Product, UX, designers, analysts, and other engineering leaders.

Key Responsibilities

•Inspire and motivate a team of 4–6 engineers within a single squad, aligning goals with company strategy and fostering ownership.
•Develop talent through coaching, mentoring, 1:1s, performance assessment, and feedback to attract, develop, and retain engineers.
•Provide technical direction by maintaining software architecture understanding, facilitating technical decisions, and driving quality via code reviews and testing.
•Plan and manage execution to deliver roadmap commitments, break down complex topics, and identify/mitigate risks with stakeholders.
•Partner with Product and business leadership to influence product strategy and align technical goals with product priorities, collaborating with other engineering managers and the architecture board.

Key Requirements

•1–3 years of experience in an engineering leadership role (e.g., Team Lead, Tech Lead, or Engineering Manager) guiding a team of at least 4 engineers.
•Strong technical background in software development, including experience with Java, Go, Kubernetes, CI/CD, messaging queues, and cloud services.
•Ability to provide technical direction and facilitate technical decision-making with senior engineers.
•Working knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
•Fintech or eCommerce experience is a plus.
